Jim Jr. & Krista Pascoe - Today
Back in 1968, Jim Pascoe, Sr. purchased a parcel of land previously used by a lumber company to transport logs to the Canadian National Railway out of Baril and Lac Des Mille Lacs lakes. Jim Sr. saw the potential in the land and surrounding lakes, and knew it was something special.
In 1972, after a lot of hard work, Jim Sr. and his wife Betty turned the property into a remote fishing camp, which nests among some of the best fishing in the area. For over 20 years, Jim and Betty, along with their three children, Molly, Amy, and Jim Jr., operated the camp in conjunction with their outfitting business in Ely, Minnesota. There were three unnamed lakes in close proximity to the Baril Bay camp, and Jim Sr. named them after his three children. Molly, Amy, and Jimmy Lakes are actively fished by our guests today. In 1995, with retirement in site, Jim sold the camp and his outfitting business to his longtime business partner.
In 2016, Jim Pascoe, Jr., who worked side-by-side with his dad until he was a young adult had the opportunity to bring the business back to the family, and is pursuing his life’s dream of operating the Baril Bay fishing camp.
Today, Jim Jr. is married to Krista, with three adult children, Jon (31), Missy (28), and Hannah (26) and black lab, Cedar. Jon and his wife Kalie added a little fisherman to the family, Eli George who we can't get enough of! Jon is an electrician in the Duluth/Superior area, while Missy and Hannah both live in Colorado Springs with respective careers in School Psychology and Speech Language Pathology. Krista works full time Marketing in the Engineering industry and also owns a portrait photography business.
